Blue Ocean Monitoring (Blue Ocean) continue to expand their global team and seek a Business Development/Sales Manager to join our USA team, based in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing ocean technology company specialising in autonomous survey platforms; Blue Ocean currently owns and operates the world’s largest commerical fleet of Subsea Gliders, and has recently invested in "micro" Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (µUUV), and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) for a wide range of commerical applications. The company also maintains a comprehensive portfolio of traditional meteorological and oceanographic equipment (ADCP, CTD, meteorological stations etc.) and specialise in the deployment of real-time monitoring systems.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commerical Officer (CCO), this role will involve sales and marketing activities primarily in the USA, but also providing support for the global sales team. You will be responsible for all aspects of the business development cycle, including developing and presentation of marketing materials, lead identification and evolution, commerical proposal generation, and management of client relationships. This role also requires you to attend, participate and present at technical forums/workshops and conferences. The position is Houston based but will require some travel within the USA and internationally. Blue Ocean will support further training and development opportunities. This is a permanent, full-time position, with immediate start available, offered on Blue Ocean terms and conditions (to be provided on application).

A degree in a marine science or engineering subject with 3-5 years of relevant employment experience is required. You will be a highly motivated individual, capable of working independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have business development/sales experience in Oil and Gas sector and specifically in offshore survey; experience with autonomous survey vehicles will be highly valued. You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to plan your own work given broad direction, and to work effectively as a member of a team. The applicant needs to be a USA citizen and hold a full USA driver's license.
